How to apply

Application period: Renewal can be made only within 60 days before the expiry date of the tour guide card. Under special circumstances, if renewal is needed prior to the above-mentioned period, applicant should request by letter, provide reasons and supporting documents.

Application procedures and required documents:

1. Completed application form【GT Model 401】(forms can be downloaded from MGTO Industry Net or available from MGTO/MGSC/MGSC-I);
2. Copy of identity document (front and reverse side on same page. Original identity document must be produced for examination);
3. Copy of certificates of passing refreshment seminar on tourism, culture and economy supervised by the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (original certificate must be produced for examination)
4. Copy of document detailing address of residence of applicant (e.g. copy of water bill or electricity bill);
5. Original tour guide card must be shown;
6. 1½ inches recent colour photograph or digital photograph; or to be photographed on-site without charge.

Fees

Fees: MOP 100.00 (plus 10% stamp duty).
Overdue surcharge: If overdue days not more than 30 days, MOP 100.00 to be paid; If overdue days exceed 30 days, MOP 200.00 to be paid.
Place of application

• Macao Government Tourism Office – Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank draft (It should be made payable to “Direcção dos Serviços de Turismo”); or by Macau Pass card and Mpay.
• Macao Government Services Centre / Macao Government Services Centre in Islands – Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank draft (It should be made payable to “Instituto para os Assuntos Municipais”), or through the machines of “GovPay”, namely by VISA, Master Card, UnionPay Debit/Credit Card, UnionPay Quick Pass, UnionPay App, BOC Mobile Banking payment, Tai Fung Pay, GuangfaPay, LusoPay, ICBC ePay, UePay, WeChat Pay and Alipay; or by Macau Pass card and MPay.

Important information
According to Administrative Regulation no. 22/2008

• Payment can be made by only one of the means above in each payment;
• Exact amount payable should be put on the cheque and bank draft;
• The date on the cheque should be no more than 3 days prior to the date when payment is made.
• The cheque should be certified if the payment is equal to or exceeding MOP50,000.00.

Time for processing

Application for renewal within validity of the tour guide card: Within 15 working days from the following day after the application with all necessary documents have been submitted to MGTO. (Performance pledge)
