Two museums of MGTO present interactive booths
to celebrate Macao International Museum Day

The Grand Prix Museum and the Wine Museum, both under the authority of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), will join close to 20 other museums in Macao to present the 2019 Macao International Museum Day Carnival in celebration of the International Museum Day. In the Carnival themed as “The Mobile Museum – Praia Grande x Cultural Hub” this year, MGTO will host a Grand Prix interactive game booth and DIY craft workshop with wine bottle corks, to promote the Macau Grand Prix and the glamour of Macao as a Creative City of Gastronomy among residents and visitors.

The Macao International Museum Day Carnival will be staged at Anim'Arte NAM VAN on 12 May this year. The Grand Prix Museum will set up a “Swerving in Car Race” interactive game booth, where residents and visitors can direct the flow of marbles, after passing through barriers, into different colored sections to gain points by turning the steering wheel as though in a car race. The Wine Museum, on the other hand, will host three sessions of parent-and-child DIY craft workshop with recycled wine bottle corks at its booth in the Carnival. Each session will admit 15 pairs of parent-and-child participants, who can design and create their unique photo frames out of wine bottle corks.

Residents and visitors are welcome to join the above activities for free and sign up at the Carnival on the day, with limited quotas on a first-come-first-served basis. For more information about the 2019 Macao International Museum Day Carnival, please browse the website for Museums in Macao (www.museums.gov.mo), or follow the official IDs of MGTO and the Cultural Affairs Bureau on WeChat.

Owing to construction projects, the Grand Prix Museum and the Wine Museum are temporarily closed. The Grand Prix Museum is expected to be reopened for public admission in a brand-new outlook in 2019.
