4th International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao will feature “20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations”

The 4th International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao (referred to as “IFFAM” or the “Film Festival”) will be held from 5th to 10th December this year. The IFFAM Organizing Committee is vigorously gearing up for the event which will feature the “20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations” as a special highlight of this year’s program. The team of the IFFAM Organizing Committee also joined the newly-appointed Talent Ambassador Kim Jun-myeon (Suho) to attend the opening ceremony of the Busan International Film Festival just held in Korea.


The IFFAM Organizing Committee stated that a brand-new section titled “20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations” will unfold in the Film Festival this year to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. A selection of local films will be screened in this non-competition section, to bring outstanding local film productions into the limelight on the international stage, showcasing the diverse dynamic of the cultural and creative industries in Macao while paying tribute to the city’s film industry.


The 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) was just held in Busan, Korea. The team of the Organizing Committee of the 4th IFFAM was invited to attend the opening ceremony of BIFF on 3rd October, and joined famed Korean star Kim Jun-myeon (Suho), the newly-appointed Talent Ambassador of the 4th IFFAM, to mark their presence on the red carpet in the opening ceremony, gaining publicity for IFFAM in this major event for the international film community. Also present with Talent Ambassador Suho on the red carpet were representatives of the IFFAM Organizing Committee including Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and President of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, member of the Administration Council of Macao Foundation, Ho Kuai Leng, Council Chairlady of Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association (MFTPA) and Secretary General of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, Alice Augusto, and Head of Festival Management, Lorna Tee.


Organized by MGTO and MFTPA, the Film Festival is committed to become a major gathering for international filmmakers to enhance cultural exchange, while putting forward Asian film talent and film works onto the global stage. As an annual international event in Macao, the Film Festival will continue to push forward the development of Macao’s film, cultural and creative industries, enhance exchange opportunities with international movies as well as unveil a wider landscape for development of cultural and artistic platforms, tourism and other fields. Besides the “20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations”, this edition of IFFAM will feature other sections including International Competition, New Chinese Cinema, World Panorama, Flying Daggers, Gala, Special Presentations, Director’s Choice and Shorts Competition.
