"Triple Crown" Best Actress from France, Juliette Binoche, will grace IFFAM as Talent Ambassdor

The 4th International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao (referred to as “IFFAM” or the “Film Festival”) will be staged from 5th to 10th December this year. The Organizing Committee announced today (15th November) that “Triple Crown” Best Actress from France, Juliette Binoche, will join renowned Chinese film actress Carina Lau and acclaimed Korean boy band EXO’s leader Kim Jun-myeon (SUHO) to become the third Talent Ambassador of the 4th IFFAM, extending the star-studded line-up from Asian to international film circles and further widening the coverage of the publicity campaign for the Film Festival.
The famous French film actress Juliette Binoche has forged her acting career for over three decades, garnering wide recognition in both the European and American worlds of film. She has starred in more than 60 English and French films with extraordinary achievements. In 1993, her dazzling performance in the French film Three Colours: Blue landed her the César Award for Best Actress and the Best Actress Prize in the Venice Film Festival. In 1997, Binoche gained further critical acclaim with her first portrayal in an English film, The English Patient, winning three prestigious accolades in a row including the Silver Bear for Best Actress in the Berlin International Film Festival, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Film Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as well as the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, making her the second Oscar-winning actor from France. In 2010, she harvested the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress with her role in Certified Copy, a film directed by famous Iranian film director Abbas Kiarostami, and became the first actress to win the European "Triple Crown", gaining under her belt three best actress awards at the Berlin, Cannes and Venice film festivals respectively.
Talent Ambassador Juliette Binoche will grace a range of activities under the IFFAM program with her presence on 9th and 10th December, including the premiere of The Truth, the session “In Conversation with Juliette Binoche” and the Awards Ceremony in the evening of 10th December. On 9th December at night, the Special Presentations will screen The Truth, a film directed by celebrated Japanese film director Hirokazu Kore-eda. Starring in this film, Juliette Binoche will come to Macao to attend the screening ceremony. In the afternoon, she will join famed Chinese film director Diao Yinan for an inspirational dialogue in the session titled “In Conversation with Juliette Binoche” and share her acting experience over the last 30 years and more.

Starting in 2016, the Film Festival has strived to become a hub for international filmmakers to connect and engage in cultural exchange. Many eminent film stars were invited to join IFFAM as Talent Ambassadors in the past editions, including (in chronological order) Jang Keun-Suk, Rhydian Vaughan, Jeremy Renner, Donnie Yen, Miriam Yeung, Doh Kyung-Soo (D.O.), Nicolas Cage, Aaron Kwok and Lim Yoon A.
