Aggressive promotions of "Macau Welcomes You Passport" Campaign in Hong Kong (Translation)

As summer holiday is at the door, Macau Government Tourist Office has launched a spate of promotions to publicize the "Macau Welcomes You Passport" Campaign. Following the large scale kick off event that was held at Time Square, Causeway Bay, a series of promotions in Hong Kong through different media, including television, bus, MTR etc are now on stage. Hong Kong residents and even tourists in Hong Kong will then learn more about the "Macau Welcomes You Passport" Campaign as well as the privileges and prizes that are offered especially to them.

The four main TV channels in Hong Kong have already started to show the commercial about the Campaign, advertisements have been posted at various MTR stations to further drive home the message. In order to enlarge the scope of publicity, buses that runs the Kowloon route, cross-harbor route and the 914 bus that runs between Sham Shui Po and Tin Hau have been dressed with the "Macau Welcomes You Passport" Campaign advertisement.

Since the launching on June 12, the response to the 'Macau Welcomes You Passport' has been enthusiastic and over 10,000 have been distributed through various MGTO Tourist Information Centers and hotels in Macau. Last weekend, being the Third Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and accompanied by the launching of bargain fare of the Macau-HK ferry, tourist flow to Macau surged and over 1,000 'Macau Welcomes You Passport' and over 3,000 maps were out in just 2 days.

On July 5, the deputy director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes was invited to speak at the 'Look At sustainable Development For Culture Conservation From Tourism Aspect' seminar in Hong Kong, which aimed to promote tourism and cultural education to the teachers of 'Travel and Tourism', 'History', 'Literature' and 'Geography' subjects. Macau Government Tourist Office presented at the seminar the tourism products, sightseeing spots, tourist feature as well as special events of Macau, including the 'The 1st Macau Food Festival', 'The 14th Macau International Music Festival' etc. Apart from providing the true aspects of Macau to the HK teachers to be discussed in class, the seminar would also facilitated the students' tours coming to explore the fascinating feature of Macau in summer.
